5 Signs Your Honda's Air Conditioning Needs Maintenance

Driving is about more than just getting from A to B. You want to enjoy your ride in comfort, feeling cool and refreshed. Most of the time, this takes a well-serviced air conditioner. Here are some warning signs that you need air conditioning maintenance at your local Honda dealership. Weak Airflow into Your Cabin If you switch on the AC but no air is blowing from the vents, it's quite likely that the blower is malfunctioning. If the fan itself isn't damaged or stuck, the fault might lie with the blower motor or resistor. A bad relay or blown fuse could also have interrupted the blower's power. A mechanical problem with the belts and hoses might also stop the air from flowing. Only Warm Air From the Vents Refrigerant needs to flow smoothly through an AC system for the cooling process to work. If refrigerant leaks, the air will stay warm, with nothing to cool it down. Barring a leak, a problem with the thermostat could also keep your cabin air warm. Alternatively, a malfunctioning condenser or clutch switch might be to blame. Banging, Rattling, or Squeaking Sounds Your AC should run quietly; any odd noises should prompt repairs. Banging or rattling sounds may mean a leaf or stone has gotten caught inside the blower. Clutch failure might also produce a rattling noise. Squeaking could stem from a loose fan belt or worn-out compressor bearings. Strong Smells of Mold or Mildew A natural byproduct of suddenly cooling air is moisture, which tends to gather inside air conditioners. This moisture creates a potential breeding ground for bacteria and mold, especially if your AC is wet and then sits unused for weeks or months, as often occurs during winter. A buildup of mildew would give you a noxious blast of moldy air when you turn the AC on again. It's advisable to switch on your AC at maximum power and coldness once per week, which effectively gets rid of moisture and prevents mold. Water Leaking Under Your Dashboard Your air-con has a drain line that allows condensation to run out of your car. However, if this drain line gets clogged up with mold or debris, the trapped moisture could drip inside your cabin instead. This will usually be under the dashboard. Book Yearly Air Conditioning Maintenance at Your Honda Dealership As with any important car part, along with responding to signs of a fault, you should have your AC periodically checked by a professional. Once a year is typically enough to keep a car's AC in great shape. Visit Coeur d'Alene Honda in Coeur d'Alene, ID, today to get your AC running perfectly once more. We've been helping our customers stay cool and comfy on the road since 1968.

Some of its highlights are engaging driving dynamics, stellar fuel efficiency, a spacious cargo area, and a sporty exterior. All trim levels offer a host of engaging features, including a Sport mode that sharpens throttle response and makes steering feel more connected to the road. The base model's CVT comes with paddle shifters that simulate shifting, giving drivers more control over the vehicle's performance. Three Benefits of Trading in Your Vehicle at Your Honda Dealership

When you're ready to get a new car, often you'll be looking to get rid of your old car. The easiest way to do that is to trade it in at your Honda dealership. It's a quick process and there are many trade-in benefits when you choose this route. Competitive and Fair Valuation We are committed to giving you a fair market price for your vehicle, no matter what make or model it is. Send us the details online, and we'll get you a quote quickly so you can see in advance exactly how much you're going to get for your trade in. We're in a position to do this in the way that no private buyer can. Private buyers are looking for a steal: they are actually less likely to give you the full market value of your car. Beyond that, private buyers care deeply about minor cosmetic flaws and even the cleanliness of the car. At your dealership, we can look past a lot of that because we have the resources to quickly clean and buff up a vehicle. Best of all, there's no haggling with your dealership. You don't have to worry about a private buyer initially agreeing to your price, then showing up and trying to bargain you down by several thousand dollars. Safe and Transparent Transaction Speaking of private buyers, there are scammers galore, and trying to sell privately usually means inviting strangers to your house and allowing them to learn quite a lot about you. You have to be very careful that the transaction itself is done in such a way that you don't get scammed and lose the car only to find that the payment doesn't go through. When you trade your vehicle in at the dealership, once you finish the transaction, it's all over. You have the payment in hand, no strangers go to your house, and there's no chance the dealership is going to come back later unhappy and demanding a refund. Everything In One Place Once you trade in your Honda at the dealership, you can immediately apply the value of that trade-in to a new vehicle. In a lot of cases, the entire transaction can be done in a day or less, and you can drive away in your brand-new Honda that afternoon. If you don't want to get a new vehicle and just want sell, that's an option, too. And if you need financing to make up the difference as you get your new vehicle, that's easy to access at the dealership, as well. Come talk to us today at Coeur d'Alene Honda in Coeur d'Alene, ID to trade in your vehicle.

The standard deceleration selectors let you control how much the car slows down when you ease off the gas. This boosts performance and adds some fun to your drive, more like downshifting in a manual. 2. Dynamic Drive Modes and Eco Assist The Civic Hybrid offers three drive modes to match your preference. In Normal mode, the vehicle balances power and efficiency to make drives smoother. ECON dials back on the responsiveness, giving you even better gas mileage. Sport mode amps up the power and thrill, perfect for when you're driving on the highway or open road. The top-spec Sport Touring Hybrid trim adds "Individual" mode, which lets you adjust various settings to get the exact feel and response you're after. You've also got the standard Eco Assist system that shows you how efficiently you're driving and helps you improve fuel economy. 3. Multi-Function Infotainment System A 7-inch touchscreen center unit comes standard on the Sport Hybrid, while a larger 9-inch unit is available. An eight-speaker stereo is standard, and you can upgrade to a 12-speaker Bose system for premium sound. 4. Honda Sensing Safety Features With Honda Sensing, the Civic Hybrid helps you stay protected on the road. It includes forward collision warning and collision mitigation braking to prevent frontal collisions. Other standard technologies include lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and auto high-beam headlights. 3 Advanced Safety Features in the 2025 Honda Lineup

Honda Sensing is a suite of advanced safety features designed to protect you and your passengers. They utilize radar, sonar, and other advanced technologies to warn you of potential dangers, allowing you to respond and avoid an accident. As your Honda dealership, we want to tell you how some of these systems work. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) This system uses radar and a forward-facing camera to monitor the vehicle in front of you. The radar measures the distance from your front bumper to the rear bumper of the vehicle ahead. The distance is then compared to your current speed to determine if there's a danger of collision. If the system determines the distance is closing too fast, for example, the car ahead slows down, you'll receive visual and audio warnings to slow down. Sometimes, a vehicle ahead may brake suddenly, and you're unable to react quickly enough to hit the brakes. In this situation, CMBS automatically applies hard braking to bring your Honda to an almost instant stop. Automatic braking can prevent an accident or reduce the damage caused. Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) This feature helps keep you safe by positioning your Honda in the center of its lane. It uses a camera located in front of the rear-view mirror to identify the lane line markings. Once identified, LKAS will automatically warn you if your vehicle drifts toward either lane boundary. You'll hear warning beeps, and a warning icon will appear on your screen to alert you if you're about to leave your present lane and aren't actively steering. If your Honda continues to move toward the lines, LKAS gently tugs your steering wheel to guide the wheels back into the lane. LKAS can't steer your vehicle, so it will provide additional visual and audio alerts to warn you that you need to continue steering. Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) The RDM system helps prevent your vehicle from leaving the road. Like the LKAS system above, it also uses a specialized camera. The RDM camera detects the solid lines that identify road borders. If this system detects you're about to leave the road, it applies steering torque to guide you back into your lane. It also provides audio and visual warnings to alert you to the danger. If your Honda is about to leave the road, RDM applies the brakes to stop your vehicle and prevent an accident. RDM temporarily deactivates if your direction indicator is on or you're actively steering. If you'd like to know more about these or any of the other advanced Honda driver assistance features, contact us today at Coeur d'Alene Honda in Coeur d'Alene, ID
